How to get started ? Contact us for more information
We need your help. There are many opportunities for you to serve in this ministry. All we ask is that you have a willing heart and a spirit of obedience and you can play a crucial role in God's ministry of Changing Hearts, Transforming Lives and Impacting the World. Here's some basic information to help you "get involved."
Being a Team Member Ellis Weekend #6 Inside and Outside Team Application
Kairos volunteers come from all walks of life - from ex-offenders to retired Prison Wardens. They all share a desire to follow Christ's direction in Matthew 25:36, "I was in prison and you visited me." Don’t worry if you have never been in a prison before - we will all go together as a group with Officer escorts.
The program is very structured and you will know exactly your role. We believe the greatest gift we have is to give our hearts to the men. Our motto is “LISTEN LISTEN, LOVE LOVE”. The team gathers at 4 team formation meetings to bond together and train for their parts. Only men may serve on the Inside Team at the Men’s Unit at Ellis, but not all team members serve inside the correctional institution – we have an Outside Team as well.
Both men and woman serve on the Outside Team during the Kairos Weekend at our sponsoring Church, Northside Baptist in Huntsville. The Outside Team prepares and delivers meals, agape posters, letters, assembles prayer chains as prayer partners. Both Inside and Outside Teams and guests gather together on Sunday afternoon for the Closing Ceremony inside the Unit.

The Ellis Team invites all to come join us in a Celebration and witness what GOD is truly doing inside the prison during a Kairos weekend. What you will witness is 42 men sharing a brief testimony of what these 4 days meant to them. It really is something to see - make it a little mini mission trip and car pool with Church members.
Be a Support Volunteer Contact us for more information
Each Kairos Inside Weekend has opportunities for outside support, such as praying for the Participants, writing letters of support, or preparing posters. Include your church's Sunday school classes and young family members to color placemats for mealtime in prison. Gather prayer from your Bible Studies Class to sign our prayer chain links and join us in prayer for the Weekend.
All Kairos activities are funded by donations.
If you would like to support this ministry by your donation, click on the DONATE NOW button for an online donation, or make your check payable (any amount is appreciated!) to Kairos Prison Ministry (Ellis Unit) and follow instructions on the Ellis Kairos website.
